Program Description

Event Details

Join us at the Windsor Public Library to welcome Bryna O’Sullivan, a professional genealogist, for a seminar on wills and probate in genealogy research in the state of Connecticut. While most states have county level probate courts, Connecticut uses districts. District boundaries have changed over time, making finding your ancestor's records a challenge. This introductory level program will walk participants through the basics of testate and intestate estates, identifying the appropriate probate district, locating digitized records, and what to do if the records have yet to be digitized. This program will be hybrid with the speaker on Zoom– patrons can either join us in person at the library or login from home using Zoom. Registration Required. Please call the Reference Desk at 860-285-1918 with any questions.
